I'm a Photographer, Artist, Creator, Studio Owner, and someone who absolutely loves to take special little moments and turn them into  custom artwork for my clients and their homes.  Some clients have even termed me "Interior Designer" and "The Baby Whisperer."  I am so blessed by all of the amazing clients that I have been fortunate enough to work with since starting Miles of Smiles Photography way back in 2010.

I now live in Colorado (as of 2020), but I still run Miles of Smiles Photography & Studio full time in Austin, TX - in addition to doing some photography in Durango and Telluride areas in Colorado. (Read more about how that works here.)

It's a busy, life, but so much fun!  I get back to Austin about 4-5 times a year to shoot sessions, and my Austin Team does amazing things when I'm not there to photograph the sessions myself.  For all the sessions I don't shoot myself, our amazing Newborn & Family Specialist, Lauren, shoots them.  She and I work closely together on a daily basis... To prepare for the session, (then she shoots it), and I take things over from there. (My Austin Newborn & Family Specialist, Lauren is pretty.darn.amazing, and she's one of my favorite humans on the planet!)

Perhaps the thing in my life that best prepares me for each and every session that we photograph - and the artwork I create for my clients - is my role as "Mama."  My 2 children encourage, challenge, and motivate me like no one else in this big ol' world.  In 2010, Miles of Smiles Photography was born - and inspired by my sweet baby, Miles. (He is now almost 6 feet tall!) And in 2012, my next inspiration, little Avah Sue arrived. 

Being a Mama is my life's greatest work. 

Being able to capture such special moments for my clients with their children through my camera is my "why."

Miles of Smiles Photography is a full-service portrait experience.  There is nothing cheap about what we do and create for our amazing clients.

A few things about me: 

• I have always been the "girl with a camera."  I grew up in a tiny town (1200 people) in Iowa, and you could always find me out and about on our little farm taking pictures of my animals, flowers, and anything colorful, and entering them into the County Fair.  I'm still a small-town gal at heart.  

• Color and light move me.  I see art everywhere I look.  Especially in colorful downtown areas and in the beautiful mountains.  Mountains are in my soul.

• I used to be the Fitness/Wellness Coordinator at the University of Texas at Austin for many years and managed one of the largest fitness programs in the country.  

• I am a Coach of many things.  Most recently, a middle school Volleyball Coach.  I love working with kids... big and small!
