Miles of Smiles has been our family photographer for 10+ years, with every session from start to finish being absolutely wonderful. Sarah is a joy to work with – our time together is full of laughter and fun, and my kids are always excited to be photographed by her. Sarah is so thoughtful and meticulous with her work, by outlining the entire process, providing details on what to expect, sending outfit ideas, explaining the editing/ordering process, and everything in between.

Our most recent session was with Lauren on South Congress, and it was an absolute blast. She helped navigate areas to shoot and kept us laughing and smiling the entire time – plus the photos turned out perfect!  

Sarah was in constant contact with us from her new home in Colorado – so much so that it felt like she was in Austin the whole time! Our virtual ordering and design appointment was seamless, and the canvases we ordered are flawless, high-quality, and were delivered to our door right on time.

"I cannot begin to express how wonderful our experience was with Sarah. This was an amazing opportunity and very big event for us, and Sarah took time to make it special for our family! She genuinely wanted to get to know us, gushed over our 9 day old daughter, all while patiently answering questions from our 6 year old. Sarah’s skill with newborns is amazing! Our little one hadn’t eaten before we arrived and Sarah was flexible and kind giving me a tour while I fed her and adjusting the time of our shoot. After she took Mabel she soothed her with such skill and patience that I want to take her home to help when she is fussy! You can tell that Sarah loves what she does, and adores newborns and kids - that feeling is exemplified in the photos she takes and the atmosphere she creates. The H Families - Extended Family Session {Austin, TX}

"My daughter-in-law had used Miles of Smiles Photography for her Maternity and Newborn portraits, and the beauty and quality of those photos was outstanding. So when I decided to gather the grown kids and their families for a big photo session, Sarah was my immediate choice. Anyone who sees our photos is immediately drawn to them. They "ooh and ahh" over the feeling of family fun and love that Sarah captured in the photos. We had so much fun during the session, and Sarah made us feel relaxed and very natural. "I saw my friend's family Christmas photos and thought, 'WOW those look amazing!' I asked her who took them and she referred me to Sarah. Sarah was patient, funny, and professional. I was a bit nervous about how my 2-year-old would do because I knew his attention span was limited. But Sarah was a PRO at keeping him entertained. Sarah's communication throughout the whole process was straightforward. I loved that she asked questions in advance (in her client paperwork) to get to know my family. Understanding what your client wants to achieve in advance is so important, which makes the photo shoot that much more enjoyable because everyone knows what to expect when you arrive to your session. Our Order & Design Appointment was originally supposed to be in person, but due to the Coronavirus changes, we had to have it online. Sarah asked me to be patient, as this was her first time using new software for the Ordering Appointment online. But she was a ROCKSTAR! I would never have known that was her first time (using new software for ordering purposes). I really loved when she showed me EXACTLY what MY EXACT photos would look like on MY Wall. I had emailed Sarah a photo of the wall at my house where I planned to hang them, so seeing this I knew how it would look in advance. I'd highly recommend her!"

Henry's Studio Newborn Session {Austin, TX}

"I love how organized Sarah was. The information on how to prepare for the session was clear and I felt like I knew what to expect during the session. Love how Sarah tailored to the baby's needs, and I felt comfortable that Henry was in good hands. I started using a couple of her calming tricks at home! The B Family - Baby's 1st Year Plan {Austin, TX}

"When I first started researching photographers for our upcoming little one's arrival, the options were endless. Since word of mouth recommendations have always been my best friend, I asked a coworker who recently welcomed a little boy. I contacted Sarah and was amazed by the images on her website. I knew I wanted a photographer that captured how precious little ones are but not in a cheesy way. I also wanted to make sure we got a few family photos which was not a common option amongst the other choices I had contacted. Sarah's use of props were simple and didn't distract focus away from our little one. My husband and I loved being able to watch Sarah work, as beyond family and nurses, no one else had handled our precious cargo! We both felt so at ease with Sarah posing our little one as she is beyond cautious. When it came to viewing our final images, both my mom and I were brought to tears with the beautiful images Sarah captured. "The whole experience was great from beginning to end. Sarah was so great in being flexible with us when baby Charlie was getting his molars in and was not feeling well, (so we rescheduled the date). I loved that the entire shoot was done in 58 minutes! We were thrilled once we got to see the images and all the grandparents were blown away! Everyone asked how Sarah got him to pose in so many positions! We did not get newborn photos taken of Charlie and this was really important to me to capture his one year milestone. We decided to contact Sarah for our newborn photo session because of her emphasis in newborn photography. Initially, we were only going to do the newborn session, but as we were looking at her website in greater detail, we decided we had to have Sarah capture moments throughout our daughter's first year through her Baby's First Year Plan. "As intimidating as the thought is about a family photo session, it ended up being SO easy, enjoyable, and very laid back. Sarah was so good with the kids! We had never had professional pictures done before Sarah. Money was one of the biggest obstacles in ever having a family session done before. But now that we had the artwork up in our house, it is priceless! ("The Trio" wall collection of 3 Canvases is AMAZING!) The communication from Sarah was incredibly efficient and timely.
