LITTLE SITTER SESSION PREPARATION

Here are some tips for great Little Sitter Sessions

TIPS:

  • Simple is best. We want the baby to be the center of attention, not the outfits.
  • What to Wear?  Again, keep it simple.  No busy patterns.  We prefer more neutral, creamy colors, as it looks beautiful with baby's skin.
  • Our Outfits: We have THE cutest collection of "Little Sitter" outfits (some neutral colored, some blues, pinks, purples, etc.) and we love using these, as they are simple, sweet, and photograph beautifully!  And they fit babies perfectly.  Watch the slideshow on this page, and you'll see some of the "Little Sitter" outfits at the end of it.  Also, see the "Little Sitter" gallery here: http://www.milesofsmilesphotography.com/galleries1
  • Less is more.  The more outfit changes we have, the more we tire out baby, so stick with 1-2 outfits.  We also have lots of adorable things... "little sitter outfits," tutus and headbands for girls, and much more.
  • Pick your backdrops and a few props and *list them on your Client Paperwork.*  Please pick 2-3 backdrops that you love and list them on your Client Paperwork.  You'll find backdrop and prop options in our "Little Sitter" and "Children In Studio" galleries.  Also - note any props you see in our Gallery that you're interested in using.
  • Set the session time based on baby's nap schedule.  If baby wakes much earlier/later than normal the morning of our session, let me know, because we might be able to move session start time a bit.
  • Bring a few of baby's favorite things. Definitely snacks (little puffs or yogurt melts (broken into smaller pieces) are great because they dissolve quickly), baby's "lovie" (if they have one), and one of baby's favorite musical toys.  Keep all of these hidden in your diaper bag until we need them (if they are needed).

At the Session:

Feel free to kick back and relax on the couch, and let Sarah work with your sweet baby.

If there are too many people involved in trying to get baby to look and smile, baby ends up wearing out and not knowing where to look, and rarely looking at the camera.  We don't want that.  :)

PARKING:

We have one parking spot available.

Drive down the driveway (just to the right of that front house - see image above) and you'll see a little blue building with a deck.  We are the lower level, and your parking spot is right in front of the pretty door there.  (Look for Miles of Smiles Photography and parking signs.)

If bringing 2 cars, second car will need to park on the street and walk down the driveway. **Please use caution and hold children's hands when walking down the driveway.**  There is a tenant in the back who uses the driveway to exit property.
